Mike O'Reilly believes in 'giving back' to the community. He is a Fellow of the PRIA, responsible for maintaining ethical and professional standards in the profession. He has been a Councillor & President of the Public Relations Institute of Australia (SA), a National Councillor and was Chairman of the SA Registered Consultancies Group for over a decade. The RCG is responsible for setting and managing standards of the profession within the consultancy framework.
He was on the inaugural Course Advisory Committee for Communications Studies at the University of South Australia and has been a guest tutor and continues to be a student mentor.
Mike was Vice Chair of the Board of Management of the Australia Day Council (SA) for several years; he is a Member and former Councillor of KESAB environmental solutions (Keep South Australia Beautiful) Inc. He is a long time Member and continuing active supporter of Victim Support Services Inc (VSS) and the Commissioner For Victims' Rights, through a long association with distressed families as a result of working as a Police & Crime Reporter in the media.
He was a Community Representative Judge for the Dame Roma Mitchell Justice Media Awards and is a pro-bono PR & Media advisor to several voluntary not-for-profit fund raising events. He has provided media and marketing skills to the Cruising Yacht Club of SA and the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club. He has been an advisor to the Variety Club of SA and the Adelaide Women's and Children's Hospital.
