Angas Zinc Mine |
|
|
Terramin Australia's Angas Zinc Mine at Strathalbyn needed an upgraded Community Newsletter as part of its community engagement program. There had been questions about environmental issues. I got involved and reviewed the science, questioned the client and istened to the government mining regulator to respond with the FACTS. This began in September 2011 with a series of special flyers and a quarterly published four page newsletter - including a special 6 page edition that told the full story of what the company was actually achieving within the community. Extending the 'reach' of the previous newsletter was an important component of the company's plan and the aims of the Strathalbyn Community Consultative Committee (SCCC). Newsletters were distributed direct to the local community and also inserted regionally in the Southern Argus and the Mount Barker Courier newspapers. Result = Acceptance. Even though the mine is now in 'care & maintenance' ~ a temporary closure since 2015, we still work with the local SCCC to maintain information flow with the community and to government. The company is now making major investments in a mining opportunity in Algeria in a massive potential zinc mine that has government support.
There's now a proposal (June 2021) to re-open the Ore Processing Facility to create around 40 local jobs. This continues to have support of the SCCC.
This is the Special 6 page May 2012 Edition.

When you need a rapid response Newsletter (printed or in PDF format for web/email) our selected design team will transform my words & my pictures to get immediate results. Our relationship with top quality design / printing and website developers and high speed laser printer companies means we can prepare printed or email delivered PDF format newsletters and community information, or lobbying documents, overnight where required.
We use e-mail friendly Adobe Acrobat PDF images documents to get to your market. Short-run laser printed items for quick delivery are also a speciality. Newsletters range from tabloid sized (newspaper) four colour printed web offset (for 20,000 copies+) - through to smaller number colour laser run-outs that are remarkably cost effective for immediate delivery and allow for rapid changes to content in community engagement consultation jobs.
Example: The way to provide clients with a dynamic Laptop PC based on-screen slide show is demonstrated by the JND Company Profile for John Nitschke Drilling, South Australia's leading outback exploration driller that works on major project jobs like the BHP Billiton Olympic Dam Expansion project.
John Nitschke Drilling (JND) provides the Mining, Exploration and Waterwell Industries with professional and comprehensive drilling services. MurrayLink InterConnector Project |

ELECTRICITY POWER INTERCONNECTORS: Still in the news today in 2021. But I was directly involved in one of the most amazing 'power to the people' projects a long time ago. Decades later, guess what.... nothing has changed. We are still pitching to help new projects receive public accepance. The MURRAYLINK project was a national energy infrastructure project creating the first underground electricity interconnector between Berri in the Riverland of South Australia and Mildura / Red Cliffs in New South Wales. https://www.hitachiabb-powergrids.com/au/en/references/hvdc/murraylink
The project required Community Consultation, Media Management and Political advice at local government and multi State Government levels with SA, Victoria and NSW.
Delivering Print publications and Advertising to the community in local regional newspapers was an important service provided by O'Reilly Consulting. These editorial style adverts and flyers also served as newsletters delivered by email as a pdf and then printed in tabloid size for cost effective insertion as free standing flyers to local newspapers in various regions. The work achieved by the Project Team received several major environment & construction awards.

An example of how we work with print and graphic artists and printers - in this case partnering with Peacock Publications of Kent Town, Adelaide for promoting John Nitschke Drilling Services. Writing and photographs were created by Mike O'Reilly, who then project-managed ways for the printed product to be enhanced for alternative uses on laptop presentation by Powerpoint display 'in the field' with farmers and miners who use this company's innovative drilling services.
John Nitschke Drilling Pty. Ltd. is an Australian owned and operated company. The company is based at Hahndorf in the Adelaide Hills, South Australia. Central Boating Services |
|
|
|
Small businesses can appear more professional if they have quality artwork that is presented as both a printed flyer and as a document that can be emailed in Adobe PDF format. This small job for Adelaide boat builder Central Boating Services, featuring its nationally popular Gem550 trailer sailer, is a good example. Our work began with a printed brochure in the 1990's and has been a popular and informative website achieving great results for the client.

River Murray Floods |

|
|
Mike O'Reilly is a creative script writer for several independent Film & Video companies, including Apricot Film & Television, a regionally based company in Victoria, which has a great reputation for corporate productions on subjects relating to agriculture, natural resource management, construction engineering and the mining industry.
For the 50th Anniversary of the devastating 1956 River Murray Floods, we collaborated with the Murray Darling Association to create a historic production featuring archival film images and dramatized re-enactments to present this incredible national disaster to modern-era viewers during celebrations at towns along the Murray and Darling Rivers. As a boat owner at Goolwa, at the end of our great river, Mike had a personal interest in this project. He is a competitive racing member of the Goolwa Regatta Yacht Club.
This original DVD has been a 'sell out' product and is still in demand. It has also featured on national TV programs.
